He was born in England in 1958 when he was still young. He had poor health have asthma even when having to stop school often. But spent time in self-study with a thoughtful person , the researcher therefore has excellent academic results until his father had hoped to take the scholarship to study at a prestigious university in England. But what is really interesting is what is the highest thing that he can get from being human. What is the universal truth that does not depend on the assumption of each society? Why do people want to live in a friendly way but continue to kill each other?
The pursuit of truth.
When no one can give him an answer, so he began to read many different books. Until found the teachings of the Lord Buddha , therefore being faithful that "The truth of truth" that is being sought therefore interested in spiritual training and studying Buddhism since being in adolescence which is a major cause for him to start collecting money and travel to find experiences in countries such as Iran which are very difficult , even though it had been rehearsed but he did not discourage until someone invited him to stay at home to teach English in exchange for accommodation and food , when he behaved himself as an inverted Indian . But in the end, there are reasons from external factors causing him to return. He traveled all over until being sure that education and dharma which is the preferred way instead of studying at university. He spent the time searching for what he wanted from the age of 17 years. It took 2 years until 2521 (1978) when he met and started performing with Phra Ajarn Sumetho. (His Highness is the first foreign monk who is a student of Luang Por Cha) at Hastings Cathedral, England and has become as Anakarik (White) with Phra Achan Sumetho holds 10 for 1 year and then travels to Thailand.
Monk life.
Even though he have already practiced some things when he were with the teacher of Simeon. But Luang Por Cha was not ordained to , he was trained with various intrigue from Luang Por Cha. He told him that when Luang Por Cha asked if he wanted to ordain, if he said that he wanted to, he would answer that he had not given up the ordination until he replied "as far as Luang Pho". At Nong Pa Phong temple with the Buddha's enlightenment (Luang Por Cha Sutuphat) as a preceptor .
Before traveling to Thailand he intended to stay at Wat Nong Pa Phong for 5 years without conditions to study dharma. When I met Luang Por Cha also had faith in the wisdom and teacher who had both mercy and profound wisdom in teaching. Therefore able to withstand the difficulties of adjusting to the life of the monastery forest strict in discipline and the practice of following the Buddha's footsteps , living with the Thai clergy until the progress and joy in the dharma. The teaching of Luang Por Cha focuses on the practice of precepts, patience, perseverance, meditation and bowed to his heart to observe and be aware of his emotions and can use intelligence to create their own benefits , and benefit others simultaneously made him bound to Luang Pho Cha .
The reason for choosing Theravada principles because of he have intention want to devote offering life to Buddhism in order to achieve the nirvana and the like of the Theravada party , because of being frank , but came about with the body and mind, suffering, being with the forest and nature, as the Buddha's disciples had performed in the modern era.
Even if he is a foreigner, language matters are not obstacles. Because he believes that the basic language is Pali Sanskrit , which both Thai and foreigners have to start learning as well language is equally difficult. But Thai people may be easier than Thai vocabulary with Pali Sanskrit, he have to try and be very diligent, but not for long. Then alone, read the vocabulary in the dictionary. With teachers did not learn many theories , also practice with proof , consulted with teachers , can read , talk to the monks together . All life he must be familiar with this thing, so it is not difficult.
Currently, Phra Ajarn Chayasaro resides at the monastery of Ban Tawai Village, Amphoe Pak Chong , Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand.
